Review of Chappie (2015) by Kenric A — 21 Feb 2018
It took me a few years to finally watch Chappie due to my preconceived notion of it being a Robocop ripoff and all the negative reviews, but I loved it! Apparently it helps to already be a Die Antwoord fan, but they are also quality actors and the film has substance with the awesome style.
The most profound moment is when Chappie asks: "You're my maker. Why did you just make me so I could die?" Those who believe in a supreme being would do well to ask that of their alleged creator.
There's also plenty o' humor, such as when Chappie's watching He-Man or giving Yolanda Barbie a haircut.
