Clearly adapted to our current times, and that was to be expected. However it doesn't advance any substantial elements in any way with the exception that this time the lead family is not an extremely white family as in the Steve Martin-led films and the original one, therefore just works over the Disney's safe formula.
Coherent in its systematic style, but as predictable and inconsistent as you would expect from a story like this.
