Review of Chéri (2009) by Victor L — 31 Mar 2011
I loved this movie, but it wasn't made to be watched by a broad audience. First, because Michelle Pfeiffer looks gorgeous and is terrific as Lea de Lonval, she deserved an Academy Award nomination.
She's really skillful in expressing emotions without talking, her reflexions on life, death and aging were touching, the chemistry she and Friend had was amazing. Too bad the romance between Lea and Cheri was that short.
Kathy Bates is also great as the nasty Madame Peloux. The art direction, cinematography and costume design are fabulous.
