Spike Lee's abstract delivery of this necessary message was interesting but I felt like I was watching a stage play at most times. Nick Cannon is cool but they should have cast someone who is actually from Chicago, perhaps Chief Keef? Jennifer Hudson gave the film it's dramatic edge, a performance perhaps drawn from personal experience, but the film turned into a comedy whenever Spike attempts to illustrate a world where women could actually hold out.
