Review of Child of Sorrow (1956) by Matt C — 21 Jan 2010
This got some really good reviews on release but for the life of me I can't see why. 1 - Plants aren't scary, they really aren't. If you're that bothered, then burn them. 2 - Plot holes galore throughout, way too many to go into.
3 - Did I mention that plants aren't scary? Especially ones that sort of talk, it just reminds you of the 'The Rocky Horror Show', never a good thing. 4 - Either the lead actor has something stuck in his teeth or a speech impediment.
..whichever it is, it's really annoying. 5 - When I'm stranded on the top of some weird temple...a few of my group have been killed...and plants are trying to eat me...I don't want a hand-job.
It's thoughtful and everything but really it's not the time or the place for that sort of thing. 6 - What's this bloody Hollywood obsession with Mayans? 7 - Did I mention plants are in NO WAY scary?
