Review of CHiPS (2017) by Audiostoned — 11 Apr 2023

I had extremely low expectations for this movie, but it is honestly better than any movie written, directed, and starring Dax Shepard should be. A lot of the jokes fall flat, and the fact that it shows a father’s concern for his drug addicted son and builds sympathy for the character, only to chop his head off 5 minutes later was uhhh questionable.

BUT what does work in the film is actually very funny and is not the by-the-numbers classic tv show made into a movie for a quick buck you would expect it to be. It is surprisingly unabashed (sometimes a little too much) but you can tell care went into the script and directing.

Overall a fun watch. Check it out.
