Review of Code of Silence (1985) by Stephen C — 05 Jan 2011
Of All Chuck Norrises films this oen stands out as being pretty darn good .
This is due in no small part to the gritty feel of the Chicago locations and the fact its directed by Andrew Davis who would later go one to direct the cracking Under Siege and other action blockbusters .
Norris plays Eddie Cusack a good tough cop in a Department where not all the cops are soo clean.
Whean a drug war breaks out on his turf Norris is forced into action whith he usual brand of kncocking heads and firing guns.
Norris may not be Laurence Olivier but here he does what he is good at and thats just fine and dandy.
The supporting cast is packed full of character actors playing the cops and badguys most notably Henry Silva as a sadistic gangster and Dennis Farina in an early role as Norris partner with a nice line in sarcasm and rubbish business ideas .
Davis keeps the action coming thick and fast and while its nothing new in the story stakes it passes the time very well indeed ,good fun.
