Review of Code of Silence (1985) by Ola G — 28 Oct 2008
This is as many points out the best Chuck Norris flick for sure. He is as always stiff as a wooden board, but I reckon thanks to Andrew Davis and a reasonably ok action script, "Code Of Silence" is a solid 80s action movie. Was fun to see it again.
Eddie Cusack (Chuck Norris) is an honest cop. A man who obey the law, but stop for nothing if crossed. After a cover police operation goes wrong, a gangwar is at hand and Eddie is caught in the middle. He has to go up against not only the mob, but as well his colleagues to do his job.
The feeling of "Code Of Silence" will be found as well in Andrew Davis "Above The Law", which came out three years later. A good mix of action sequences with a classic lonewolf cop setting. In "Code Of Silence" there is as well a great casting of the supporting roles, in which we find for example Dennis Farina, Molly Hagan and Henry Silva. I still think Henry Silva is perfectly creepy as a bad guy. His looks are just perfect for the bad guy clothes. He appeared as well in "Above The Law". And I have always liked Dennis Farina. Great actor.
Enjoy Chuck when he is at his best!!
As said.....Guns don't kill people. Chuck Norris kills people.
