Review of Code Unknown (2000) by Valeria P — 08 Jul 2011
Not sure what to think of this, which is one of Haneke's strengths, in my opinion. You will catch yourself thinking about his movies randomly, trying to figure out how to wrap your mind loud them. This one leaves you as uncomfortable as Cachà (C), and is more fragmentary than The White Ribbon.
I think that one of the strong points the director makes is how our status and our view of ourselves vary according to the environment - where we are and who is around us.
