There's some commendable qualities to this film but it's so pretentious and full of itself that it's cringeworthy at times. The saving grace was the actors and director clearly giving a damn; The director maybe a little too much since he wrote the thing, too.
I like that he took chances with some of his ideas even if some of them were complete misfires. That alone is worth a watch of any film IMHO.
