Review of Conan O'Brien Can't Stop (2011) by Crystal C — 06 Apr 2012
For Conan O'Brien fans this will surely hit the spot. For the rest of us, me included, who like Conan just fine, this might be more of a struggle to get through. The "it's tough on the road" story has no worth to me when you ASK for that road.
It seems half the film spends time with "poor Conan" dealing with fans during Meet & Greets. How about DON'T do them if they are so completely draining. This Doc. also serves a very self indulgent desire for Conan to "Bruce Willis" it up and play Rock Star.
I'm sure people didn't pay to see Conan and band play cover songs. Sure, I understand this is Conan's gig and he can do what the hell he wants. I just can't imagine that the long suffering on-the-the-road TV star wanna be Rock-n-Roll guy seems so sour the entire show.
The film does show a more human side to Conan, but also a side others may not have wanted to see.
