Review of Concussion (2015) by Steve M — 20 Jul 2016
On top of being a decent movie (in itself, not quite 5 stars), the full score is for bringing me to the attention of the issue it addresses.
One may think this dramatises how rubbish, greedy, and absolutely pathetic the people that run the NFL are - that is, until you find out that the New York times dug up emails from the Sony leak (producer of this movie) that shows the NFL made some sort of, to put it nicely, 'requests' of Sony to tone down the portrayal of the NFL.
5 stars for showing me that the NFL is run by scum and trash that are looking to keep profits going strong at the expense of their players. Keep in mind - the overarching theme and treatment of the protagonist was more or less how it went down in real life back in the early 2000s.
