Review of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972) by Zachary M — 17 Oct 2016
When talking about studio interference, this movie tends to come to mind more so than almost anything else, for me. A grim and dark ending to a grim and dark story is kind of what is called for, but sometimes the studio wants a happy ending and often the studio gets what it wants.
As it stands to watch the movie is brought down by its new ending, keeping the original wouldn't have made too much of a difference over all, but it would have made an at least noticeable one.
