Review of Creep (2014) by Brandon W — 28 Feb 2016
I actually would not heave heard about Creep if it wasn't for Blumhouse Productions which really caught my eye that Mark Duplass is writing a horror film and he's also starring in it. I heard good things about it, which also got me more curious to see it.
After watching it, Creep lives up to the praise that it deserves. Patrick Brice is really good as an actor, director, and as a co-writer with Mark Duplass that I'm curious to see Brice's next film called The Overnight.
Mark Duplass is great in this that does make you wonder a bit about if he's crazy or not. Their conversations are really interesting, and the scares are great in this, which I'm glad that they know how to scare the audience.
The humor is really funny, and the characters are well developed. The movies gets more and more unsettling when it keeps going, and I'm glad that the tape is found which most found-footage films these days don't even get found, or get a good enough reason why it's being filmed, which this one does.
Some people might have a problem with the last 5 minutes of it which I understand and thought about it too first, but thought about it more, and I felt like it could've lead to the same thing and that there's no other choice.
As is, I felt like that Creep is a much scarier and interesting horror film than It Follows and I hope that it gets more well known.
