Review of Cube 2: Hypercube (2002) by Lo'vyn L — 02 Jan 2015
It goes in an interesting direction separating it from the first cube with its introduction of quantum physics as an element to the cube, but this also makes the minimalist plot even more incomprehensible.
They tease at more answers than the first Cube gave, but this actually just made it more frustrating. Things happen with no explanation, and in the end I was sort of left thinking "why?". Additionally, the deaths aren't as interesting, and the whole thing feels a bit confused.
It's not a bad film though. It's got enough of the stuff I enjoyed in the other Cube films. The addition of quantum physics is also interesting, even if it is under-explained. The poorest Cube film, but still an adequate entry worth a look from fans.
