Review of Cube 2: Hypercube (2002) by Joseph C — 13 Jan 2012
This film has more of the same antics I saw in the first one, but with a new extra-dimensional twist! If you thought being trapped in a 26^3 room cube was bad enough, imagine being held against your will in a cube that extends into the fourth dimension and possesses potentially an infinite number of rooms! The traps get deadlier too, making for a fun ride that'll have you at the edge of your seat. The acting is much better in Cube 2 as well, but the dialogue still suffers from the occasional cheesy B movie line. One star minus for the ending. It sucks, no surprise there, and it doesn't make any sense according to mathematical theory on tesseracts. It seems they just pulled it right out of their asses.
It's a good film, especially if you like math thrown in with a little mystery and psychological thrills. Even if you hate math it's a good film to check out. Oh, and by the way, remember Saw? Yeah, just a Cube ripoff, so check out this movie if you liked Saw as well.
