Review of Daddy's Home (2015) by Davidtejada — 27 Jan 2018
"Will Ferrell does a nice shot when performing the good dad but suddenly he gets lost completely, the same as Mark Walhberg... this comedy feels improvised and most of the times dull and redundant". Despite offering some laughs, the movie itself is mediocre, not only because of the wasted cast but the idea of making stupidities in order to get children' attention. Maybe it has a plot, but it is covered because of the "comedy" part. The little CGI put in there also looks awful, and the idea of kicking, insulting or ridiculing someone (in this case Mark to Will) is tyring and again shows the lack of creativity some producers have when making a comedy movie (as well as the "I'm black" joke). The characters look predictable too and many scenes of them are just outrageous (take the skateboard scene or in the basketball court). At least what it's fine is the chemistry between Brad and Dusty at its times.
RECOMMENDATION: If you like the comedy formula of kicking, insulting and ridiculing and also the actors Ferrell and Wahlberg then you may like Daddy's Home...
