Review of Dancer in the Dark (2000) by Pj P — 20 May 2013
I had to watch this for class and let me say this, it was brutal to watch. Not brutal as in violence but the acting was really bad, the singing was annoying and I just hated the main character. It was a normal movie till probably 40 minutes in when the first song came in.
The songs weren't good, they all sounded the same and just got based off the girl earring sounds and singing. All the characters were very dull, boring and not interesting at all. It has a strange plot and takes a turn that just doesn't make sense.
It was very slow paced, the last 10 minutes felt like a half hour, they kept dragging things when I was ready to just yell, just end it. As you can see I really didn't like this one bit, maybe only a few scenes kept my interest but I would never watch it again, even the way they filmed it got annoying and felt cheap.
