Review of Dawn of the Dead (2004) by David B — 05 May 2012
This is a good slick remake of the 70's original, it does feel fresh and upbeat. But it came out when Zombie films were everywhere. Anyway, the remake is a lot more gorier than the original and does have some good performances but it seems to lose it's satire edge and even though their are more funny moments it's no-where near as satirey brutal as the first.
It was great that the characters sheltered at the mall but didn't seem to make the most of it, especially as it was modern, they really could've used that a bit more what the original couldn't.
Still, it's a good zombie flick, not the best but a worthy remake. Not scary though, nor shocking and nothing new.
