Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is an action packed, pulse-pounding science fiction thriller that succeeds in being vastly superior to it's intense predecessor, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Andy Serkis gives an incredibly unique and heartfelt performance as the film's fearless protagonist, proving once again that performance capture should be praised just as much as regular performances are, and should be considered for the Academy Awards.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' visual effects are truly astounding, and one could even say they are some of the greatest effects ever put to screen, as without them the film wouldn't be nearly as good as it is.
In a sentence, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is one of the best movie sequels ever made, as it is superior to its predecessor in every aspect.
