Review of Deadpool 2 (2018) by Evan C — 23 Aug 2018

After the complete destruction of the accepted premise of an action/ comic book film adaptation, that was unsurprisingly such a success.

The second installment of this, now to be multi sequel extravaganza, did not disappoint on entertainment factor. It is quite the norm in the industry, that if the first installment of a saga sets the bar rather high, the chances of a follow up film being as good or even bettr, is not just slim, but nye on impossible!!!

The fresh take to the genre, the heavy focus on letting the source material speak, the stellar supporting cast and the undeniable charisma that Ryan Reynolds brings to his long term project, makes Deadpool II an absolutely brilliant adventure that builds in every aspect to the original story!!!

I found the sequel to be just as entertaining as the first film, but also sets the merch with the mouth franchise ( I hate that word, bit I feel it appropriate here ) to continue for several iterations as long as the story can be kept fresh!!!

All in all, I have been critical of Reynolds in the past on numerous occasions, especially if he spends the majority of the movie in CGI.

His dedication to bringing Wade to life definitely brings out the best of Wade and the best of Reynolds in what I hope to be a multi sequel franchise that never looses what makes it so great!!! It's a hard ask....but I have high hopes!!!
