Review of Death Wish (2018) by Chris S — 24 Mar 2018
There's a reason nearly every negative review of this movie mentions the NRA or conservatism in some way and talks about political timing. Once you brush the irrelevant bias aside, this is a fine film; while not the greatest action film (or even Bruce's greatest *hint*), it is well paced and well acted (on that front the supporting characters are the highlight) as well as featuring a nice balance between deliberately satisfying violent action and calmer scenes of drama and much-needed comic relief.
It's just a shame it won't do better, thanks to harsh reviews from those that went in knowing how they'd feel about it already, and the fact that it's only in about a third of movie theaters.
