3/5★ While not as fresh and emotionally resonant as the first one, Despicable Me 2 offers enough laughs and visual delights to entertain and distract you from the fact that it just doesn't capture the spark its prequel had.
Also: When it comes to cutesy animated sidekicks, more is less.
