Review of Despicable Me 3 (2017) by Martin T — 10 Jul 2017
The 3rd movie in the series always seems to be an attempt to cash in on the success of the prequels, but I had no idea Despicable Me was going to be so bad. Clearly the directors tried connecting a bunch of somewhat funny scenes into a movie...and the result isn't even mediocre. There are many extra plots that have nothing to do with the main story, and the worst part is they're not even funny. In fact, there were so few scenes that actually made me laugh that I wondered if this was supposed to be a comedy at all. The new characters were overly cheesy and said lines that wouldn't even be used in normal conversations. Gru, the minions, Lucy, and the girls weren't much better. Looks like Dru's horrible characterization rubbed off on even his awesome super villain brother.
Don't watch this unless you want to waste $12 of your hard earned money on 2 hours of halfhearted acting and flashy graphics.
