Review of Dial M for Murder (1954) by David L — 14 Oct 2011
Perfectly casted and acted. The writing and plot will please your neurons, focused to ideal by the fine-tuned telescopic eye of the artist who knows when to leave things alone and when to bend them just a tad, Alfred.
Some criticize that it's too much like the play. Really that is only a plus. Plays are fresh and live. The word that fits is 'balanced'. Nothing is out of whack. Not a thing to alter. Watch these actors work the room and you want to shout, "cut; that's a wrap. Couldn't do it better.".
One of the few movies that can be viewed every few years and be even more enjoyable than a first viewing.
It's a puzzle worthy of solving.
