Review of Don Jon (2013) by Magnus P — 24 May 2014
JGL turns his attention to directing and delivers a solid balanced debut which is thoughtful and is a real antidote to the run of the mill blockbusters we have been fed of late....
In the lead JGL is great fun, infusing Jon with just the right amount of arrogance, charm and vulnerability. Julianne Moore pops up stealing scenes and shows just how great she can be if given the right material. The standout however has to be Johansson's Barbara, a dream girl who reveals her true nature as the story progresses. Her Jersey accent is terrific and her scenes with JGL are great.
I really dug this flick and I am looking forward to see what he does next...
