Mike Birbiglia's 2nd offering is a perfect, subtle combination of comedy (specifically Improv and Sketch) and the real-life struggles that come with striving to work in that world. But what makes this film special is he doesn't try to over-dramatize plot-points for the sake of spectacle or show; he is firmly grounded in truth and honesty. The film plays with the grays of humanity and how perspective shades the hues of life and relationships.
Poignant without sappiness.
