Review of Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot (2018) by Mauro_Lanari — 03 Aug 2023
(Mauro Lanari).
Rewatched. It seemed impossible to do worse than "Sea of Trees", instead Van Sant surprises by reiterating that the Death Trilogy, the lack of meaning, the absurdity of existence can be contrasted with a path of redemption that coincides with faith in a superior entity that convinces you to accept the dystopian reality. Jumble of the infamous "12 steps", of the Taoism of Lao-Tzu, of an "higher power" called Chucky, and of a "return to the boundless", the glass half full is in the fact that he hasn't been directing feature films for the last 5 years.
