Review of Double Indemnity (1944) by David L — 23 Sep 2013
Filled with twists, well acted and incredibly thrilling, Double Indemnity is a powerful and probably quintessential example of Hollywood's film noir and although it's certainly not flawless (Walter's murder motif is somehow unrealistic), it is still an enthralling and unforgettable experience and it is one of the very best films of the time and perhaps of all time.
A cinema classic that somehow lost in the Oscar race proving once again the Academy's unbelievably grand track of wrong choices and shameful snubs.
