Review of Dr. No (1962) by Dragon O — 01 Jan 2018
Where Bond started. Although it doesn't possess the massive scope of even later Connery-era James Bond, Dr. No is everything a film franchise could hope for in regards to its opening installment. The plot is moderately sized enough to remain quaint, exciting and interesting throughout, and the performances are phenomenally sharp.
Here is where Sean Connery laid the foundations upon which every Bond in every film would build upon (or desecrate, in some cases). A remarkably entertaining spy movie with underrated cinematic importance and history.
