Review of Dracula (1958) by David S — 21 Sep 2009
First in the Hammer Dracula series with Christopher Lee, this version of the novel veers away from the pattern at many points, but the acting's competent with Michael Gough and the others supporting Cushing and Lee well.
The familiar Bray Studios great hall set is seen here, I think, for the first time as the Count's lair. And the final scene features the ring from Drac's finger - given to Lee by Lugosi and still in Lee's possession.
