Review of Draft Day (2014) by Timothy K — 26 Jul 2016
Parts of this felt like Hard Knocks: Draft Edition. Which is a compliment, because I like Hard Knocks. The inner workings of draft day unfold in an interesting way, even if it takes a while to get to the payoff.
What kept me from liking this more is that all of the non-draft stuff is terrible. The relationship scenes with Jennifer Garner didn't fit at all. Same with the Ellen Burstyn scenes. Fortunately the last 30 minutes of the movie is the best part, so it leaves you with a good impression at the end.
Side note: it's funny that the first person listed in the cast on IMDB is Chris Berman.
