Review of Dune (2021) by Zisis151 — 29 Oct 2021
Soulless movie with a bunch of characters, most of which you won't give a **** about because they barely get 2 lines worth of dialogue. There's no build up, no cohesion to the plot and not enough context.
"Here's house A, here's house B and here's the bad guys" and then the fighting starts. The music was also generic and the fact that it was playing randomly at times when the main character would just casually look at the desert made it pretentious and cringe.
What could anyone actually see in this film? Is it the couple lines that refer to political debates? Does that validate people's pseudo-intellectual bias in some way, I wonder. Because there's really nothing else this movie does.
Either that or people's standards are so low they get hyped up by marketing and some cool CGI visuals.
