Review of Edge of Darkness (2010) by Ryan Gibbons — 11 May 2011
This was only fair and there are many reasons that hindered it from being anything more. It was very overdone, the really bloody violence was really out of place. The music is also out of place, Howard Shore's soundtrack is very basic.
The acting was decent but the characters were surprisingly a bit flat. The whole thing seemed very generic and it tried not to be, I liked "Taken" because it was a movie that knew what it was and that's why I gave it 4 stars, it did not try to be anything more than a stone-cold, kick ass action movie and I think Liam Neeson would beat the crap out of Mel Gibson.
"Taken" was a better movie with the same premise. Despite all of his craziness I do like Mel Gibson. Ray Winstone was my favorite character, and one of my favorite actors.
