Review of Edward Scissorhands (1990) by Matthew B — 11 Oct 2014
A modern time fairytale with exceptional cinematography value. A person who has a kind heart but with hands that can do nothing but destroy. A comical yet true portrayal of our modern day society, with characters that are constructed to fit certain typical population profiles.
Johnny Depp's performance shines throughout the film, and I applaud the fact that characters in the film are often blinded by the true intention of Edward. However, the story itself is not strong enough to be considered truly unforgettable, and I get a sense of hollowness towards the end of the film.
