Review of Encounters at the End of the World (2007) by Zachary M — 10 Aug 2016
Unbelievably beautiful, profoundly sad (at times), and unimaginably breath taking. It's a movie not just about the facts or landscape of Antarctica, but the many diverse and wonderful people who work and live there.
Each one seemingly deserving of their own Werner Herzog style movie or documentary. The world down there is so alien it's hard to believe it's our own, but it is. Never before and likely never again, will such a simple yet honest view of our own forgotten corner be captured.
Werner deserves all the credit in the world for that.
