Review of Eraserhead (1977) by Joey F — 01 Oct 2017
Certainly surreal, disturbing, bizarre, and even dystopian but - there's no plot. I'm not sure if this is all a dream sequence or just a few clips are a dream. The lighting, cinematography, and editing are all good - if only there was a script or something.
.. This could have been a 16 minute short for all the action there is in the mostly empty 89 minutes. Which is what this film should have been: a graduate student's 16 minute masterpiece. Instead we have a purely academic exercise in cinematography and sparse props.
