Review of Erin Brockovich (2000) by James M — 09 Oct 2010
A classic. Seen it about 20 times and it gets better every time. Roberts performance is a masterclass, her best yet. Showing amazing range and giving her character such depth. The scene in her car where she realises she has missed her daughters first word is one of the rawest emotional performances Ive seen, her portrayl feels utterly real.
This is matched by the look and tone of the film with its bleached out realism, looking both dated and timeless, it will stand the test of time. Gripping story, superb supporting cast and an emotional journey I can not recommend this enough.
In my top ten all time films.
