"Ernest Goes to Jail" is Jim Varney's third feature film where he plays the role of Ernest P. Worrell. Even though Jim Varney can be funny by just watching him act, this film lacks the type of jokes that are needed to sustain itself over the films 81 minute run time.
I was really disappointed by this film, I went in expecting to get at least a few laughs, but the jokes just weren't there in this film. The plot in this film wasn't horrible, and Ernest did play the character Felix Nash pretty good but it lacked the jokes.
Even though the story was alright, the film runs at a very slow pace and just when you think there is going to be a good joke, there isn't. The supporting cast does a pretty good job, but you know that everyone is watching it for Jim Varney.
