Review of Escobar: Paradise Lost (2014) by Diane M — 01 Jul 2015
This could have easily been a oscar bait project, but it does fall flat in some scenes and could have been one of the top films of the year if a better writing/directing team had been aboard. This story however, is something that I think is definitely worth a look and not just for Benicio Del Toro but Josh Hutcherson above all who gives the best performance, I've seen in his career so far.
The story does feel like it was ripped from history in some ways even though some scenes did feel a bit unrealistic and over the top. That being said, what all is here was entirely gripping to watch and very intense.
For fans of Dramatic thrillers with splashes of romance, this is a must-see.
