Review of Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) by Compi24 — 20 Apr 2022
Undeniably one of the most whacked out, imaginative, convention-busting movies I've seen in a long, long time and quite possibly my favorite within the A24 catalog to date, "Everything Everywhere All At Once" finds co-writers/co-directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert harnessing that signature blend of humor and emotionality that Sundance audiences fell in love with back in 2016 and channeling it through some of the most brilliantly creative subject matter you can get in media today.
The balancing of tones, storylines, plants and payoffs — it's like watching a high-wire act involving the juggling of both chainsaws and puppies at the same time. Daniels, however, end up excelling in nearly every intangible facet.
Notwithstanding a couple structural issues I had towards the end of the film, this is an emotionally satisfying, superbly realized adventure, with resonant thematics and gut-busting laughter. Hoping the duo at hand has many, many more projects like this in the works.
