Review of Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014) by Steve C — 18 Feb 2018
Shocked at how much this movie was panned and dismissed when it was released just over three years ago. It's not perfect by any means and has plenty of pacing problems but Scott's visuals and set pieces have never been more sweeping than they are here, especially with his vision for the ten plagues and the parting of the sea.
Production Design, cinematography, sound and sound effects, beautiful locations in Spain and a solid cast all make this biblical epic worth watching at least once. Here's hoping the 4 hour final cut sees the light of day because I'm sure it would take an already good film and make it excellent much like his director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven.
