Review of Eyes Wide Shut (1999) by Andreas W — 14 Dec 2014
Not Kubrick's best but not Kubrick's worst. It is an interesting story that sometimes feels empty but overall is an interesting movie. Kidman is great like always and Cruise is eh like always. Sydney Pollack is great too.
Kubrick's touch of cinematography is missing in the film minus the mansion scene but it has great cinematography, art direction, production design, and costumes. The score is eerie and haunting through out and added a nice tough to the film.
