Review of Faces of Death (1978) by Jacob G — 13 Jun 2010
At first I didn't want to watch this because I didn't know what I was going to see but when I did watch it I was surprised by how tame some of the scenes were. Yes some scenes are real and some are clearly fake but the effects make the deaths look real as if they were on a new report.
This movie fooled so many people with the monkey brains scene. Everybody thought it was real but the DVD tells viewers how they did the effects for the movie.
There are some scenes that are hard to watch. Mostly the animal scenes. Te slaughterhouse, seal clubbing, and hunting scenes are the hardest to watch. About half of this movie is animal scenes which I don't know if they are fake or not, the other half is people which has alot of faked deaths. What I don`t understand is why they made four sequels which probably get more and more brutal as they go on.
In all this movie I only reccommend for hardcore fans of the genre because it isn`t for people who think The Grudge and The Ring are gross and gory.
Most Messed Up Part of the Movie: Hard to pinpoint exactly which part is most fucked up but alot of the animal scenes were messed.
