The writing and tone of Fading Gigolo is too uneven to make for a coherent, admirable film. The plot awkwardly shifts from melodrama to sexual comedy with no real justification. There are elements of the film that could have worked if the filmmakers had chosen one specific tone or message as opposed to several very different ones.
