Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Kevin L — 19 Nov 2018
The characters were at best 2-dimensional. I find no difference between Voldemortï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s plan and Grindlewards plot, itï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s the same ideaology for the both of them( including the crest and the manner in which they call to their followers.) The cinematography is lacking as is the lighting, during certain scenes itï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s so dark that characters are indistinguishable from each other. Meets role seemed to revolve around winning back Tina than actually having any direct involvement with the stopping of Grindleward, he was also more cowardly and spineless than in the first movie. There is a large gap between what ended the first movie and what began the second, Jacob and Queenies story jumped miles ahead from where it was left off. Credences story also had a large jump between the movies, there were plot holes as well. For instance how did he know where to go? How did he gain access to his birth certificate. How did he manage to leave New York with no one noticing him on the ships?
The whole movie was lackluster and leaves a lot to be desired.
