Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Sarah M — 05 Dec 2018
Fans of the Harry Potter series will get their hit of the Wizarding World, but they need to prepare for a confusing ride. While the original 8 films could rely on the Harry Potter books to explain the magic and minutia, the Fantastic Beasts films lack this advantage.
Little effort is put into explaining new magical concepts which leaves the viewer feeling like theyâ(TM)ve missed something. This film relies on shock value and confusion instead of a strong plot. Characterizations are changed to further plot points, and the entirety of the timeline is ignored in the name of fan service.
I look forward to the following films in the series and I hope that the film makers learn their mistakes from this film.
