Review of Far from the Madding Crowd (2015) by Norm D — 06 Oct 2017
In spite of its general good quality, 'Far from the madding crowd' does not transform Hardy's linguistic power into a proportionally powerful film. Two hours are too short for 'Far from the madding crowd'.
There, they only do storytelling and lack subtlety . Vinterberg failed to make a long story short : he created a too small film for a too big novel. 3 stars for an overall correct quality (even if Mulligan isn't a convincing Bathsheba), without much thrill, still.
