Review of Far from the Madding Crowd (2015) by Mohammed B — 06 Jun 2016
Solid adaptation but I think it helps to know the book, otherwise it feels a bit rushed, like they're only hitting the big plots points and aren't letting the characters properly develop. The film looks gorgeous (as only England can in golden sunlight), even the dead sheep on the beach was a spectacular image.
And the cast are very good, but perhaps without enough source material to work with.
