Review of Fatal Attraction (1987) by Shannon B — 03 Jul 2008
I do not object to brain candy per-se, but a movie is not really brain candy if it promotes common and often destructive myths about gender, race, sex, religion, etc... The psychological profile of Close's character would be infinitely more likely to ultimately commit suicide than homicide (evidently the original ending).
A story that switched the gender roles would have been "based on too many true stories".
